Located in the south west of Finland, Turku is one of the most popular tourist destinations in the country. It is by far the oldest city in the country and as such, there are many historically significant buildings and culture. Here, The Culture Trip lists the 10 things to see and do while visiting Turku.




Turku Castle (Turun linna)
This is one of the oldest buildings in use in the city; and the largest medieval building in Finland. The castle was built in the 13th century and features an architectural style with noticeable Swedish influence. Visiting this castle enables you to get a glimpse of how nobles lived centuries ago. There are costumes available for you to wear should you want to play a game of dress up while visiting.


Turku Art Museum (Turun taidemuseo)
Turku is considered as an artistic town by many, and it’s s not difficult to see why. At the Turku Art Museum, there are many different sections and exhibitions in this museum where you can easily pick a favorite genre of art.
