Revealing top 11 Secret European Towns You Must Visit

Image result for marseille france streets
Shareby  Ethel Dilouambaka

The secret is out for Milan, London, Paris or Barcelona, but Europe has a plethora of destinations that you may not have considered visiting before. Here are 11 lesser-known European towns you should visit... like, right now.

Preveza, Greece

Epirus capital city Preveza often falls under the radar, but that doesn’t mean it has nothing to offer. Set on the Gulf of Amvrakikos, this small yet modern town has a picturesque historic centre, where cobblestone streets and pedestrian walkways are lined with taverns and cafés. The port has a lovely promenade where locals enjoy walking, while the city boasts a cultural and artistic scene, with many activities organised frequently.
Insider Tip: The whole region of Epirus is beautiful and while Preveza is connected to Lefkada through a causeway, forget the beaches and go rafting on the Acheron river. The refreshing fresh water is the ultimate cure for a hot summer day.

Marseille, France

Paris gets all the buzz and while visitors to France also head south to soak up some Mediterranean sun, the destination is hardly Marseille. Get off the beaten track and discover France’s second largest city, infused with rich history and culture and a vibrant food scene. Capital of Culture in 2013, Marseille has a strong French identity yet with a definite Mediterranean vibe. This port city boasts beautiful avenues, museums and little shops and restaurants to visit, while a climb up the impressive Notre Dame de La Garde is a must to enjoy a mesmerising sunset.
Insider Tip: Take a day out of the bustle of town and hike the Calanques, a beautiful mountainous biotope that borders the sea. ...... keep reading .... http://snip.ly/9p80j

SEE 28 THE MOST BEAUTIFUL PLACES IN CALIFORNIA

Alamere Falls
From Yosemite and Big Sur, to Joshua Tree and Santa Barbara, California is home to some of the most beautiful places on the West Coast, nay, the country, nay, THE WORLD... OK, reverse nay, still just the country. It's beautiful enough that no matter how many Half Dome hikes you take, you're still never even going to scratch the surface of all the Instagrammable wonder that the Golden State has to offer.

But that doesn't mean we're not gonna help you try: Here are the 28 most beautiful places in California you didn't even know existed.
Alamere Falls
Point Reyes
Oh this? It's just a waterfall. THAT FLOWS DIRECTLY INTO THE OCEAN. A rare "tidefall," it's found by following the Coast Trail from the Palomarin Trailhead on a 8.5-mile round-trip hike. Pro tip: Stop at Bass Lake along the way if you're into rope swings

The Seven Teacups
Johnsondale
One of the coolest natural wonders of the Sierras, the Seven Teacups has been described as one of the world's (WORLD'S!) most spectacular canyoneering challenges. And that's the rub on this one -- you need, like, ropes and stuff to climb it. But if you do (or find a friend who knows what the hell they're doing and can carry you up or something) you'll be rewarded on the way back down, which people have been known to take inflatable killer whales and alligators down (just, duh, make sure the water depth is OK before you kill yourself). This is a must-read if you're gonna actually try this thing. And you should. Because holy shit look at this thing guys. .

Burney Falls
Burney
You don't have to worry about catching these falls on a good day as they pretty much never stop flowing thanks to the underground springs that feed into them from above. At 129ft-high and 250ft-wide, the whole thing is pretty massive, flowing 100 million gallons of water every day into Lake Britton. Bonus: The falls sit within pine-dotted McArthur-Burney Falls Memorial State Park, a solid spot for hiking, fishing, and camping. ..... keep reading ..... http://snip.ly/72min

How to Explore the fascinating Cuba as a Family

Explore Cuba as a Family. The Flying Couponer.
Share by THE FLYING COUPONER

The country of Cuba was off limits to many travelers for years and now that people can travel there, they will find that there is so much more beyond the beaches along the shorelines. The countryside, forests, and mountains are full of history, folklore, and treasures, and what is even better is that people who are traveling with their children will find themselves welcomed everywhere that they go.

Here are 7 of the best things to do with children while in Cuba:

While walking along the streets of Havana, families can stop at the Plaza de la Catedral where the Catedral de San Cristobal de la Habana is located. The entire family will want to search for the plaque and marble wreath that was placed here to mark one of the places that Christopher Columbus was laid to rest.

There are three more plazas in the area and each one, Plaza de Armas, Plaza Vieja, and Plaza de San Francisco de Asis, is unique in its own way. Families should try to visit the Plaza Vieja during the evening hours, because the parents can enjoy a drink or two while the children watch puppet shows, balloon artists, and numerous street performers. ..... keep reading ....

When you visit Venice you will Fall in love with the city

Share by inafricaandbeyond.com

Although our visit to Venice coincided with George Clooney’s much-hyped wedding there, we didn’t get to see it… or him. However, Venice didn’t need George Clooney or anyone else to lend it any stardust – it had enough magic of its own. In accordance with the title La Serenissima (the most serene), one of its many lovingly-bestowed appellations, Venice is renowned for being one of the most romantic cities in the world. The beauty of its setting, its unique architectural style, and the car-free cobblestone alleys with history emanating from every stone, all contribute to its charm. Children laugh and play in the large campos (public squares) and cavalier gondoliers row through the narrow canals in their ornate black and gold gondolas, as their guests take endless selfies. Every scene seems to have arisen from an artist’s brush and every corner presents a photo opportunity. It is easy to see why millions are drawn in every year by the allure of the city. However, Venice wasn’t always so serene.

Three hundred years ago, Venice was a playground for the affluent from around the world. It was notorious for its flamboyant nature, feverish hedonism and excessive debauchery with Venetian nobles and visitors seeking pleasure in gambling, endless parties and carnivals. For a while, many of Venice’s residents wore their masks at all times in public to keep their identities and escapades hidden. It was during this time that Casanova and his exploits became famous. This was also the beginning of the decline of the Venetian empire with its long and colourful history starting in 421AD during which it was attacked by invaders, and devastated by plagues and fires but during which it also captured the imagination of the world. In 1866, Venice became part of the Kingdom of Italy…and it continued to capture the world’s imagination...... keep reading  .... http://stfi.re/jovxgzb
