You Must Explore the Hidden Beautiful Lyon in France

Lyon has had many accolades over the years from being the historic European centre of silk, the ancient capital of the Gauls to the birthplace of cinema and more recently the world capital of gastronomy, Lyon seems to have it all. It is after-all, heralded as France’s second city – after Paris – and as it is built on the banks of two rivers and between two hills, the bridge-hopping, hill climbing experience adds a new dimension to the way you explore a city that was once an industrial hub.
The city offers a blend of old architecture and new cuisine, of traditional crafts and avant-garde art that is likely to appeal to even the most exigent traveller. .>> http://snip.ly/y4rre

Top 11 reasons why you should visit popular Uzbekistan

By Hazel Plush, travel writer

UUzbekistan was the focus of a rare media flurry this week when an Egyptair plane was forced to make an emergency landing in Urgench after a bomb hoax. Chances are it was the first time many people had taken any time to consider this little-visited Central Asian country, but what does it have up its sleeve for travellers? Here’s everything you need to know…
It’s a snippet of the Silk Road’s best bits…

If you’re intrigued by the ancient Silk Road but don’t have the time to travel its length from China to Turkey, you’ll find three of the route’s most important cities in Uzbekistan. Khiva, Bukhara and Samarkand were key stop-offs for traders, and have all been painstakingly restored to their former glory – think glittering minarets, voluptuous domes and hypnotic mosaics. With a little planning you can squeeze them all into a week (handily, Uzbekistan Airways’ Heathrow-Tashkent service departs on Friday evenings and returns a week later), making this the perfect bite of Silk Road splendour....... >>

YOU NEED TO SEE THE BEAUTIFUL ANGKOR TEMPLES ,CAMBODIA

Posts by Ashley, Travel Tips, Trips Around the World

Cambodia is located in Southeast Asia and is bordered by Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. It is on the Gulf of Thailand and the Mekong River runs through the country into the Tonle Sap. It is becoming a popular tourist destination, particularly for Europeans and Australians. It is a bit more difficult for Americans to fly there, but as tourism becomes more popular, more and Americans are heading to Cambodia due to it being a more exotic destination. This country has a very interesting history and culture that we really enjoyed learning about and experiencing first hand. Also, just in case you were wondering,Angkor = city.
Angkor Wat

Angkor Wat is the largest religious monument in the world and the most visited tourist attraction in Cambodia. It was originally built for the Hindu god Vishnu, but over time became a Buddhist temple and was cared for by monks. On our trip, this was really talked up and hyped up so much that by the time we actually got there we couldn’t help but feelslightly disappointed. We are not entirely sure why, but we were hoping for more. This is not to say that it is not an interesting place to visit with important historical meaning; it just did not ‘WOW’ us like we were expecting. Others in our tour group also expressed this. While Angkor Wat is surely worth visiting and taking the time to explore, there are also other interesting temples and ruins nearby that might be even more impressive....... >> http://ln.is/NeEmT

1. Visit between October and April.

Dubai only has two seasons — hot and hotter. The months between October and April, known as the winter season, bring blue skies and perfect beach weather to the city.
